In this tutorial, you will send a WhatsApp to the shop owner when a customer places an order.

**Time needed:** 8 minutes

## Before you start

Make sure:

- The Wabot WordPress plugin is installed and connected.
- You know the shop owner’s WhatsApp number.

> This message goes to the shop, not to the customer. Customer messages are in [Send a new-order WhatsApp to the customer](/features/notifications/new-order-customer).

## 1. Open the admin notification

In WordPress admin, open **Wabot**.

Open the shop admin / admin notification settings. Look for **Admin Notifications** or a shop-admin message.

Turn it on.

  <div class="doc-shot-ph-frame" role="img" aria-label="Admin notification settings">
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-kicker">Screenshot example</span>
    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">Admin notification settings</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## 2. Enter the owner’s number and message

Enter the shop owner’s WhatsApp number.

Use the country code, with no `+` and no spaces.

**Right:** `60123456789`
**Wrong:** `+60 12-345 6789`

Type a short alert.

> New order [order_id] from [billing_first_name]. Amount [order_amount]. Phone [billing_phone].

Save.

  <div class="doc-shot-ph-frame" role="img" aria-label="Admin number and message">
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-kicker">Screenshot example</span>
    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">Admin number and message</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## 3. Place a test order

Place a small test order, or reuse checkout with a test product.

Use a billing phone that is not the same as the admin number if you also test the customer message. That way you can see both WhatsApps.

## Make sure it worked

This tutorial worked when:

- The test order appears in **WooCommerce → Orders**.
- The shop owner’s phone receives the admin WhatsApp.
- The order number in the message matches that order.

## If it didn’t work

### Only the customer got a message

- Confirm the admin notification is on.
- Check the admin number uses the country code, with no `+`.
- Save again, then place a new test order.

### Both phones are the same

If the billing phone and the admin number are the same, you may get two WhatsApps on one phone. That is expected.

### The message did not arrive

Open [Check the message log](/features/notifications/message-log).

## Next

The shop owner now gets an alert. Next, use the log when a WhatsApp does not arrive.
