In this tutorial, you will install the **Unofficial API Plugin** so WooCommerce can send WhatsApp from your QR / **Unofficial API** account.

**Time needed:** 10 minutes

## Before you start

Make sure:

- You are logged in to Wabot.
- The WhatsApp account you will use shows **Online**.
- You can open WordPress admin (**wp-admin**) as an administrator.
- WooCommerce is already installed in that WordPress site.

> This page is **Unofficial API** only. For Meta Business API, use [Install the Official WordPress plugin](/features/notifications/install-official).

> Do not install both plugin zips on the same site.

## 1. Download the Unofficial plugin

On the left menu, click **Integrations**.

Open **WordPress Plugin**.

Click **Unofficial API Plugin**. Save the zip file.

    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">Integrations WordPress Plugin downloads</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## 2. Copy Instance ID and Access Token

On the left menu, click **Accounts**.

Open the **Unofficial API** account that is **Online**.

Under **API Credentials**, copy:

- **Instance ID**
- **Access Token**

Keep them in a note. Do not swap the two values.

    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">Instance ID and Access Token</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## 3. Upload the plugin in WordPress

In WordPress admin, go to **Plugins → Add New Plugin**.

Click **Upload Plugin**.

Choose the zip you downloaded. Click **Install Now**, then **Activate**.

## 4. Paste the credentials

In the WordPress left menu, open **Wabot**.

If you do not see **Wabot**, try **Settings → Wabot**.

Paste:

- **Instance ID**
- **Access Token**

If you see **Country**, choose Malaysia.

Save.

If you see **Verify Status**, click it. It should show the account is connected, not disconnected.

    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## Make sure it worked

This tutorial worked when:

- **Wabot** appears in WordPress and the plugin is **Active**.
- **Instance ID** and **Access Token** are saved.
- **Verify Status** (if shown) does not say disconnected.

## If it didn’t work

### Verify Status says disconnected

- Check the WhatsApp account is still **Online**.
- Paste **Instance ID** and **Access Token** again. Do not swap them.
- Use the **Unofficial API Plugin** zip, not **Official API Plugin**.

### You cannot find Instance ID

Open **Accounts**, click the Unofficial account, then look for **API Credentials**.

### You uploaded the Official zip

Delete that plugin. Download **Unofficial API Plugin** from **Integrations → WordPress Plugin** and install that zip instead.

## Next

The plugin is connected. Next, send a WhatsApp when a customer places an order.
