In this tutorial, you will send a WhatsApp when a WooCommerce order moves to a status such as **Completed**.

**Time needed:** 8 minutes

## Before you start

Make sure:

- The new-order WhatsApp already works. Finish [Send a new-order WhatsApp to the customer](/features/notifications/new-order-customer) first.
- You have a test order you can edit in **WooCommerce → Orders**.

## 1. Open the status messages

In WordPress admin, open **Wabot**.

Open **Customer Notifications**.

The plugin can message these WooCommerce statuses: **Pending**, **On-hold**, **Processing**, **Completed**, **Cancelled**, **Refunded**, and **Failed**.

  <div class="doc-shot-ph-frame" role="img" aria-label="Customer notification statuses">
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-kicker">Screenshot example</span>
    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">Customer notification statuses</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## 2. Write the Completed message

Turn on **Completed**.

Type a short message.

> Hi [billing_first_name], order [order_id] is completed. Thank you for buying from [shop_name].

You can do the same for **Processing** if you want a “we are packing” message.

Save.

  <div class="doc-shot-ph-frame" role="img" aria-label="Completed status message">
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-kicker">Screenshot example</span>
    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">Completed status message</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## 3. Change a test order

Go to **WooCommerce → Orders**.

Open your test order.

Change the status to **Completed**. Update the order.

## Make sure it worked

This tutorial worked when:

- The order status in WooCommerce is **Completed**.
- Your test phone receives the Completed WhatsApp.
- The order number in the message matches that order.

## If it didn’t work

### The new-order message arrived, but Completed did not

- Confirm **Completed** is turned on.
- Save again, then change the status once more.
- Open [Check the message log](/features/notifications/message-log).

### You changed the status twice

Some shops send one message per change. Change from **Processing** to **Completed** once and wait a few seconds.

### You wanted shipping / tracking

This page covers WooCommerce statuses only. Tracking plugins are a later setup.

## Next

Customers now get a status WhatsApp. Next, alert the shop owner when a new order arrives.
