Connect your business WhatsApp number to Wabot by scanning a QR code.

## Before you start

- Log in to Wabot.
- Keep WhatsApp installed on the phone for this business number.
- Make sure you can open **Settings** in WhatsApp.

Use a dedicated business number when possible. Do not test broadcasts with a personal number that has active customer conversations.

1. **Open Accounts**

    In Wabot, open **Accounts** from the left menu.

2. **Add an account**

    Select **Add Account**.

3. **Choose Unofficial API**

    Under **How do you want to connect?**, select **Unofficial API**.

4. **Scan the QR code**

    On your phone, open **WhatsApp → Settings → Linked devices → Link a device**, then scan the QR code shown in Wabot.

    If the code expires, select **Refresh QR** and scan again.

5. **Wait for Online status**

    Return to **Accounts**. The new account should show **Online**.

## Make sure it worked

Your account appears in **Accounts** and its status is **Online**.

## If it did not work

- **Unofficial API is unavailable:** your plan may not include it. Use [Connect Official API](/getting-started/connect-official) or ask the account owner.
- **QR code expired:** select **Refresh QR**, then scan again.
- **Status is not Online:** check WhatsApp **Linked devices**, scan again, then select **Refresh data** in Wabot Accounts.
