In this tutorial, you will open **REST API** and copy one sample for a connected account.

**Time needed:** 8 minutes

## Before you start

Make sure:

- You are logged in to Wabot.
- You have REST API permission.

> Most shop owners do not need this page. Use it only when a developer asked for a sample. Keep tokens on a server. Do not paste them in chat or a public file.

## 1. Open REST API

On the left menu, click **REST API**.

  <div class="doc-shot-ph-frame" role="img" aria-label="REST API">
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-kicker">Screenshot example</span>
    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">REST API</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## 2. Select an account

Select a connected WhatsApp account.

The samples on the page use that account.

## 3. Open one endpoint

In the left panel, pick a category such as messaging or instance.

Open one endpoint.

Read the parameters and the sample.

Copy the sample only if your developer needs it.

  <div class="doc-shot-ph-frame" role="img" aria-label="Endpoint sample">
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-kicker">Screenshot example</span>
    <strong class="doc-shot-ph-title">Endpoint sample</strong>
    <span class="doc-shot-ph-hint">Clean UI. No real names, emails, or chats.</span>
  </div>
</figure>

## Make sure it worked

This tutorial worked when:

- **REST API** shows the selected account.
- You can open one endpoint and see a sample.
- You did not put a token in a browser app or a public page.

## If it didn’t work

### Access Restricted

Ask the owner for REST API permission.

### You wanted an app login for an assistant

Open **AI Apps** (OAuth). That is a different page from this console.

### You wanted WordPress order WhatsApp

Use **Notifications** (WordPress plugin), not REST API.

## Next

The console is open. Next, update your own profile in Settings.
