Check the message log
Open the plugin message log and fix a WhatsApp that did not arrive.
In this tutorial, you will open the plugin log to see why a WhatsApp did not arrive.
Time needed: 8 minutes
Before you start
Make sure:
- The Wabot WordPress plugin is installed.
- You have placed at least one test order, or changed an order status.
1. Open the message log
In WordPress admin, open Wabot.
Open Messages Log or Message Logs.
2. Find your test send
Look for the latest row. Check:
- The phone number
- The order number
- Whether it sent or failed
If it failed, read the error on that row.
3. Fix the phone format
WooCommerce must store the billing phone with the country code, no +, and no spaces.
Right: 60123456789
Wrong: +60 12-345 6789
Wrong: 012-345 6789
If the log shows 012… or a number with +, edit the customer’s billing phone in the order. Place a new test order, or change the status again.
4. Check the account is still connected
If the log shows disconnected or a token error:
- In Wabot, open Accounts and confirm the account is Online.
- In WordPress, open Wabot and click Verify Status if you see it.
- Paste Instance ID and Access Token again from API Credentials.
Make sure it worked
This tutorial worked when:
- You can see the test send in the log.
- A new test after the phone fix arrives on WhatsApp.
- Failed rows make sense (wrong number, disconnected, or not turned on).
If it didn’t work
The log is empty
- Confirm the plugin is Active.
- Confirm the notification for that status is on.
- Place a new test order after you save.
The number looks right but nothing arrives
- Confirm the WhatsApp account is Online.
- Confirm you installed the matching zip: Unofficial API Plugin with an Unofficial account, or Official API Plugin with an Official account.
You still cannot tell what failed
Copy the error text from the log and send it to support, with the order number and the time you tested.
